I just do not know, when I join some quiz or competitions in the Internet or radio, I always win that. My friends said that I am lucky. Luck brings me to have the stuffs from the Internet or radio.

Okay, now let me remember what my door prices are. Hehehe

First, I have joined the quiz from the radio. It was about the preview of the movie that were going to launch. The participants should answer the questions about the preview of the movie. If you won the quiz, you would get the two-free tickets fro watching it. It is sponsored by Blitzmegaplex. You can't imagine how expensive the movie tickets at Blitzmegaplex. The quiz was held once a week, and you know what? every week, it was Monday, I always listened to the radio to join the quiz. You know then? I always won. At that time, I got the free tickets for watching the premier of '3 Idiots'. To avoid the cheating, because it seemed unfair, I have joined the quiz only for about three times. Then I quit and got the door prices form the other quiz.

Besides getting the free movie tickets, I also got the cash money. I got a hundred thousands Rupiahs two times. At first, I won the quiz and got a hundred thousands Rupiahs. Then, I knew the trick of the quiz that was held in one radio from selecting the participant who was proper to be the winner, so I joined the quiz in the name of my boyfriend. Hehehe. You have to remember that the quiz needs the identity cards when you won, so do not give the fake name. But you can give another name and then borrow their identity cards. LOL. Finally, I got two hundreds thousands Rupiahs. Lucky enough :)

Moreover, I have won the tickets for attending the concerts. At that time, I won the tickets for attending the concert from Alexa, and other bands. Oh GOD! I really forgot their band's names! It was held by Seni Abadi Photo Studio at Wastu Kencana Bandung. The price of the ticket was about 150.000 Rupiahs each. So I got 300.000 Rupiahs at that time. Because this concert was held regarding to the Valentine's day 2010, so we did not come to the concert. We did not celebrate the Valentine's day.

And this recent days, I won so many door prices from the quiz. It happened in my looong holiday. Before going to the sixth semester, Polban's students especially the last year students had a long holiday for about a month and a half. During the holiday, I was always tweeting on twitter. I read the tweets from the radios' twitter. The quiz always asked the participants to give the testimonials.

1. I won the free ticket for eating at Bebek Garang from answering the right answer.

2. I won a bunch free discount tickets for about 40 tickets from GH Universal Hotel in Lembang from giving the best testimonial about the GH Universal Hotel. Fortunately, I have come to the GH Universal Hotel for a table manner, so I could give a good testimonial.

3. I won the free CD from giving the best romantic love letter in English.

4. I won the free ticket for eating at Geprek Aden from giving the right answer.

5. The latest door price is I won the free ticket for eating Cuanki at Dara Kembar and getting Maicih.

You know, those prices I got continuously in a month. Lucky enough :)

Undergoing the Two-Days Journalism Workshop Held by The Jakarta Post and Paramadina University

That was sooo fun. I really enjoyed it. Fortunately, my senior of English student also won to be the finalist, even she did not win the best six. So when attending the workshop, I was with her. At least, I was not alone to sit with. We were having fun, weren't we, teh Dea? hehehe

Between The Jakarta Post, Paramadina and Me

Once I had been told by my writing lecturer to join the writing competition held by The Jakarta Post and Paramadina University. She said that she can count on me on my writing ability. At first, she asked several students to join the competition, but at last, only me who joined it. My friends had no chance to join because of their own business.

There were two categories for the competition. A and B. A for senior high school and first year student of university, and B for the general, it can be students or maybe lecturers. My writing lecturer asked me to join the category B. of course, because even I am not a university student (I am study at Polytechnic), I did not a chance for joining the category A because I am not a first year student. I am the second year student at Polytechnic instead. Okay. I had to adapt to be like a university student. I had to be professional.

When I saw the pamphlet, first I was so nervous. I was not confident to join it. There might be lots of participant who are brilliant. I did not expect anything from this competition. Nothing. Producing the text is kinda interesting thing to do for me.

I did writing about the pro contra and argumentative essay. It was about the privacy of social media networking. FINALLY, I was called to undergo the two days- journalism workshop! Yes! I won as the finalist. Even it was still as the finalist, I still had a chance to go further. Kept fighting!

I underwent the workshop. The judges assessed the finalists from the activeness of the finalists during the workshop. Then they would call the next finalists to be the big SIX winner to be interviewed. You know? I was very surprised that I was being called to attend the interview. Alhamdulillah.

You know? there is a question that might do not satisfy the judges. When they asked 'what will you be in the next five years', I answered that I would become a lecturer. They might expect that the finalists would answer 'become a journalist' as the same as the theme of the competition which was about the journalism. But my answer was so far from that. Because even Paramadina University does not provide any majors in education. If I would become a lecturer, I would join the competition which at least provides majors in education. But in my mind, I just have one mission: I want to become a lecturer who will always encourage my students to write something, to express their feeling through their writings, and produce so many writings. Maybe my answer did not satisfy them. It did not a matter. At least I become the BEST SIX winner of the writing competition. I am very happy for that. Till now. Thanks God for everything you have given to me. Alhamdulillah.

I got the certificate of becoming the best six winner, the congratulation letter of having a two-days journalism workshop, the goody bag from the Paramadina University and The Jakarta Post, and the free-The Jakarta Post newspapers for four months. Congrats for me :)

Universitas Paramadina & The Jakarta Post

Universitas Paramadina and The Jakarta Post would like to congratulate the winners in our “News Feature Writing Competition, 2010”.

This first nation-wide writing competition has been joined by many Indonesian youth from various schools and universities in Indonesia and overseas. The competition was divided into two categories. The first category (A) was for Indonesian citizens currently studying in SMU or in their first semester of a university. The second category (B) included advanced undergraduate students, sarjana (S-1), and other Indonesian youth between 18 and 26 years old. Participants had to write a 1,000 word news feature article in English and include at least two original interviews.

After careful reading of many submissions, judges picked the 12 best participants (finalists) from each category to join the Journalism Writing Workshop on 5 and 6 November 2010. Category A submissions were reviewed by a committee at Universitas Paramadina, and Category B submissions were reviewed by a committee at The Jakarta Post. The workshop was conducted at Paramadina campus by experienced journalists from The Jakarta Post. During the workshop participants learned about journalism and styles of journalistic writing and had their samples evaluated for further selection.

Following the workshop and interviews with the finalists in each category, a committee from Universitas Paramadina and the Jakarta Post jointly made the final selections, and here are the results:

These twelve (12) finalists in each category were selected after careful reading of many submissions. Category A submissions were reviewed by a committee at Universitas Paramadina, and Category B submissions were reviewed by a committee at The Jakarta Post. Final selections were made by a joint committee of the two.

All finalists are now invited to a two-day Journalism Writing Workshop that will be led by The Jakarta Post on November 5-6, 2010, on the campus of Universitas Paramadina. In the coming days, finalists will be contacted by telephone by a committee member before November 1 in order to confirm their participation in the Journalism Writing Workshop on November 5-6 and to obtain basic information about their educational background and interest in writing. Unfortunately, as previously announced, we are unable to cover transportation costs for workshop participants. Finalists also will receive a four-month subscription to The Jakarta Post.

Following the Journalism Writing Workshop and a final interview, three prize winners in each category will be selected. First prize is a full scholarship (4 years of S1 for category A; 4 semesters of S2 for category B); the top three winners will also receive cash awards and certificates. Award winners will be announced November 15, 2010 and awards will be presented at a Ceremony on November 23, 2010, at Paramadina Graduate School, The Energy Tower, 22^nd floor, Sudirman Commercial Business District (SCBD).
